One tire swing for 70 children

New play center

Team from America
A team with members from Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky turned the play
area behind an orphanage in Guatemala into
a backyard miracle!!
Can you imagine 70 children sharing one tire swing!
Within 5 days the team had assembled a huge activity center and play area equipped with two sliding boards, a fire-mans pole, monkey bars, a crows nest, five swings, and a balance beam. We even had a few of the older boys at the orphanage help us with the project.

It was great to see the children overcome with joy as they got to play on it for the first time.

Joy of a Child would like to thank The Fathers House in Brighton, Michigan and everyone who provided the finances necessary to make
this wonderful project possible. A special thanks to David Potts and Norm Nielsen for being the "Masters Builders".
In addition to the new play area, broken windows were replaced with new ones. Other members of the team brought joy, happiness, and the love of our "Heavenly Father" to each child by providing activities games and a T-shirt in Spanish that said, "I am important to God!"
